Program: The Don Bosco soccer program was established in 1964 and has produced the
school's most successful interscholastic teams. Don Bosco soccer teams have captured 17 league titles
and have appeared in the CIF playoffs in 32 of the 39 seasons of their existence, including a string
of 19 consecutive CIF appearances. In 1995, the soccer program brought home the school's first CIF
championship for Division V. In addition, three Tiger soccer players have earned CIF Player of the
Year honors.
League: Del Rey
Classification: CIF Division VI
Practice season: May and June for the summer season; September through November for the regular season
Competitive season: extends from late November to March
Conditioning and summer session: is available during May, June, and July
Tournaments:
Summer activities: daily practice along with participation in games and a summer league.
Highlights: The 2007-08 varsity squad earned an impressive league record this year. This earned the Tigers a trip to the CIF playoffs, where they earned a wild-card slot.
Head coach: This year Saul Barrientos is in his second year as varsity head coach. In his first
year as head coach he led the Tigers to the CIF playoffs.
